MEET THE DOCTORS

Our doctors work in a partnership and as a group. Although you are registered with a named doctor, you may see any of the doctors in the partnership.

Dr Andrew McGinty - MB. ChB 1992. BSc (Med Sci). MRCGP

Dr Andrew McGinty first came to the practice in 1996 having previously worked in anaesthetics.  He has a particular interest in joint injections and chronic disease eg. Diabetes and heart disease.  Dr McGinty is currently the practice’s Caldicott Guardian.


Dr Caroline Mitchell - MB. ChB UK1986. MD. MRCGP. DRCOG. FPCERT

A GP partner in Woodhouse since 1990.  In addition to providing a full range of family medical care, Dr Mitchell has special interests in preventative medicine and the overlap of medical and mental health problems. She is one of three practice trainers for general practice specialist registrars. Since 1993 she has also been a half-time Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield where she teaches medical students, doctors and postgraduate students.  At the university, she leads a research theme: ' Primary Care of under-served populations' which develops and tests primary care interventions for people living in the most deprived communities or with complex needs.
She has a grown up family and swims a lot outside of work. 


Dr James Attwood MB.ChB 2010, MRCGP

Joined the practice in 2014 to finish his final year of GP training and has gone on to join GP partnership. Additional roles include training junior doctors to become GPs, cancer lead for local area, and local care home lead. Special interests include joint injections.


Dr Nicholas Smith - MB. ChB 1995

Educated in Sheffield, where he completed his GP training, Dr Nick Smith joined the practice in 2001.  He has an interest in musculoskeletal medicine and has been a crowd doctor for Sheffield Wednesday Football Club since 1995. 


Dr Ngozi Anumba - MBBS DRCOG MRCGP PGcertMedEd

Dr Ngozi Anumba joined the practice as a partner in November 2002 moving to Sheffield from the North East of England.  She qualified as a doctor in 1990.  Following an initial training stint in paediatrics within the Newcastle rotational training Scheme in paediatrics, Ngozi opted for a career in General Practice.  She undertook all her GP training through the Northumbria Vocational Training Scheme before relocating to Sheffield when she then joined the practice.  Dr Anumba is currently the practice lead for both adult and child safeguarding.


Dr Paula McGinty - MB. ChB 1992

Dr Paula McGinty joined the practice in 1999 after being a registrar here.  She attends a research group at the University of Sheffield doing primary care led research projects and has a particular interest in diabetes and kidney disease.


Dr Sarah Nevitt - MB. ChB 2008. DRCOG. DFSRH. MRCGP

Joined the practice as a registrar in her last year of training and has stayed on as a salaried GP. She has a particular interest in family planning and is trained in the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants.


Dr Frances Yarlett MBBCh 2013 BSc MRCP 2016 MRCGP DFSRH

Dr Frances Yarlett has joined the practice in a salaried role after recently completing her GP training with us. She has previous experience in the medical speciliaties and her interests include elderly care, gynaecology and sexual health. Outside work, she is a keen netball player and carer for rescue greyhound Maggie.
